Ok, I tried, really tried to take out the blower motor from under the dash. I got two of the three screws out, but I just couldn't get the final screw out. You may recall that I have been driving with a dead animal in the A/C blower. But now I couldn't do it anymore so, since I am the ultimate DIYer I tackled the project. Looked up "remove dead animal from blower" on the Internet, looked up "remove blower motor", etc. But finally I just got my head under the passenger side dash and got my trusty Philips head screwdriver set out and went to work. I got two screws out and the smell was worse than ever. I didn't think it could get any worse, but yes. It did.
Got a flashlight, mirror, more screwdrivers and maneuvered my head under the dash. Suffice it to say that it was a tight fit... Could not reach the last screw. So, I got into the car and drove over to Doug's Auto Repair, no appointment, just a plea to please get the dead animal out of my blower. They did. The poor mechanic had to wear a respirator mask. Took him about 15 minutes to get that last screw out, remove the blower, show me the very large "mouse" and clean and reinsert the blower.
I am as happy as can be. Like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders...No more mousemobile.
